Friday's college football slate has no team from PropFinder's top 25, so these are simply the best spots on the board for spread and total bets. I'm focused on Baylor at UCF, Tulane at Charlotte and Kent State at Sacramento State.
My picks come from comparing PropFinder's game projections with the market line. When our projected number sits meaningfully away from the posted line, I take the side the projection favors. Lines move, so shop around before you bet.
Baylor Bears at UCF Knights
Baylor (4-3) visits UCF (4-3) in a Big 12 game at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. PropFinder's projection has it as a coin flip with a lot of offense, landing at Baylor 25.6, UCF 25.2.
Over 48.5 (-100, Novig): PropFinder projects 50.8 total points
Over 48.5
Total Points
The market total is 48.5, while PropFinder's projection comes in at 50.8 points, a gap of 2.3. That makes Over 48.5 the play, and Novig has it at -100.
The model gives the Over a 55% chance of landing. Both offenses are projected to score in the mid-20s, which is why the number looks a little short to me. It is a modest edge, so size it that way.
Tulane Green Wave at Charlotte 49ers
Tulane (3-4) travels to Charlotte (1-6) for an AAC game at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2. PropFinder's projection has Tulane winning 30.8 to 16.5, a margin well above what the market is asking.
TULN -8.5 (-102, Novig): PropFinder projects TULN by 14.3
TULN -8.5
Point Spread
The market has Tulane favored by 8.5, but PropFinder's model makes the Green Wave a 14.3-point favorite. That is a 5.8-point gap, and it is why I like TULN -8.5, available at -102 on Novig.
The model gives Tulane a 63% chance to cover and an 80% chance to win outright. Charlotte is 1-6 and rates far below Tulane in PropFinder's power ratings, so laying the points looks reasonable here.
Kent State Golden Flashes at Sacramento State Hornets
Kent State (3-5) visits Sacramento State (1-7) in a MAC game at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. PropFinder's projection has Kent State winning 28.9 to 20.0, which adds up to a lot more scoring than the market expects.
Over 46.5 (-104, Novig): PropFinder projects 48.9 total points
Over 46.5
Total Points
The market total is 46.5, and PropFinder projects 48.9 points, a gap of 2.4. That favors Over 46.5, which Novig has at -104.
The model puts the Over at 56%. Kent State's projected 28.9 points carry most of the scoring, and Sacramento State is projected for 20.0, enough to push this past the posted number. As with any total, a late line move could change the value.
