The picks

Friday does not bring a heavy college football slate, so I focused on the three games where the numbers gave me the clearest player props. I leaned on the PF Rating for each prop, which blends the game environment, the defensive matchup and how often the player has cleared the line recently.
The picks cover Duke at Virginia, North Carolina State at Stanford and Army at Tulsa. Lines and prices move, so check the book before you bet.
Duke Blue Devils at Virginia Cavaliers
Duke visits Virginia in an ACC game at Scott Stadium on Friday night. Duke comes in 4-2 and Virginia is 4-3, with kickoff at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN. The game total is set near 47 points, so I looked for unders on Virginia's skill players.
Jekail Middlebrook Under 69.5 Rushing Yards (-110, theScore)
Jekail Middlebrook
Under 69.5 Rushing Yards
Jekail Middlebrook has a PF Rating of 72.6 for the under on 69.5 rushing yards, available at -110 at theScore. He has gone under this number in 3 of his last 5 and 6 of his last 10, and he averages 63.4 rushing yards over his last five and 62.7 over his last 10.
Duke ranks 256th against running backs in our matchup rankings, which is a soft defense, so this is a bet on volume more than on the opponent. Virginia's total sits around 47, a modest game environment, and the line asks him to run well above his recent form.
Jacquon Gibson Under 2.5 Receptions (-160, theScore)
Jacquon Gibson
Under 2.5 Receptions
Jacquon Gibson has a PF Rating of 69.6 for the under on 2.5 receptions at -160 at theScore. He has stayed under in each of his last 5 games, 7 of his last 10 and all 7 this season, and he averages just 1.2 catches over his last five. His last 10 average of 2.9 is higher, so the recent form is the stronger part of the case.
Duke ranks 188th against wide receivers, a middle of the road matchup, so I am not counting on the defense to hold him down. The price is steep at -160, which is worth weighing before you bet.
North Carolina State Wolfpack at Stanford Cardinal
North Carolina State heads to Stanford for a late ACC game at Stanford Stadium. The Wolfpack are 3-3 and the Cardinal are 3-4, with kickoff at 10:30 PM ET on ESPN. PropFinder's projection has NC State winning 29.4 to 24.2 in a game with a total above 55, which is the best scoring environment of the three games here.
Will Wilson Over 0.5 Touchdowns (+110, Fanatics)
Will Wilson
Over 0.5 Touchdowns
Will Wilson has a PF Rating of 85 for the over on 0.5 touchdowns at +110 at Fanatics. He has cleared it in 3 of his last 5, 8 of his last 10 and 4 of 6 this season, and he averages 1.0 touchdowns over his last five and 1.3 over his last 10.
Stanford ranks 3rd against quarterbacks, which is one of the toughest matchups in the country, so that is the risk. The high game total and Wilson's steady production are why the rating stays high, and plus money on a quarterback with a touchdown in most recent games is a fair price.
Preston Douglas Over 19.5 Longest Reception (-125, DraftKings)
Preston Douglas
Over 19.5 Longest Reception
Preston Douglas has a PF Rating of 82 for the over on a longest reception of 19.5 yards, priced at -125 at DraftKings. He has cleared it in 3 of his last 5 and 3 of 6 this season, but only 3 of his last 10, so the hit rate is uneven. His longest catch averages 26.6 yards over his last five against 15.8 over his last 10.
Stanford ranks 40th against tight ends, a middle of the road matchup, and the big game total gives him more chances to break one. This is a boom or bust prop, so treat it with that in mind.
Army Black Knights at Tulsa Golden Hurricane
Army visits Tulsa in an AAC game at Chapman Stadium on Friday night. Army is 4-2 and Tulsa is 4-3, with kickoff at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN2. PropFinder's projection has Army winning 26.3 to 23.8 and I found two touchdown props in the game.
Oran Singleton Jr. Over 0.5 Touchdowns (+125, FanDuel)
Oran Singleton Jr.
Over 0.5 Touchdowns
Oran Singleton Jr. has a PF Rating of 75.8 for the over on 0.5 touchdowns at +125 at FanDuel. He has scored in 3 of his last 5, 4 of his last 10 and 4 of 7 this season, averaging 0.6 touchdowns over his last five. Army ranks 155th against wide receivers, a middle of the road matchup.
The game total is above 53, a good setting for scoring, and plus money on a receiver who has found the end zone in more than half his games is a reasonable price. The sample is still small, so keep that in mind.
Damari Alston Over 0.5 Touchdowns (-210, BetMGM)
Damari Alston
Over 0.5 Touchdowns
Damari Alston has a PF Rating of 75 for the over on 0.5 touchdowns at -210 at BetMGM. He has scored in 4 of his last 5, 5 of his last 10 and 5 of 7 this season, averaging 0.8 touchdowns over his last five and 0.6 over his last 10.
Army ranks 155th against running backs, a neutral matchup, and the high total adds touchdown chances. The price is steep at -210, so the bet only makes sense if you think his scoring run continues.
