Best MLB Home Run Props Today HR Picks for Saturday, July 25
I went through all 15 games on Saturday, July 25th to find the best home run matchups so you don’t have to. Using PropFinder’s data tools, I’ve identified a combination of vulnerable pitchers, strong hitter splits, favorable weather, and ballpark factors. Below are my top three MLB home run props and best home run picks for today’s slate.
Pick 1: Heriberto Hernández to hit a HR --- (+375, Hard Rock)
Heriberto Hernández
Over 0.5 Player Home Runs
Matchup vs. JP Sears (Padres), loanDepot park, Jul 25, 4:10 PM ET
Hernández is the safest bat of the three and he brings real thump, with a 14.1% barrel rate, a 50% hard hit rate, and a 107.9 max exit velocity to go with six home runs over his last twenty games. As a right handed hitter he draws a plus platoon spot against the left hander JP Sears. loanDepot plays a touch pitcher friendly, but raw power like this travels in any yard, and at plus money on a bat this dangerous that is a spot worth taking.
Pick 2: Brice Turang to hit a HR --- (+575, FanDuel)
Brice Turang
Over 0.5 Player Home Runs
Matchup vs. Ryan Feltner (Rockies), American Family Field, Jul 25, 7:10 PM ET
Turang steps into a plus matchup and he is swinging a hot bat, with three home runs over his last ten games. Ryan Feltner is a right hander who has been very homer prone, surrendering better than two per nine with a 25% home run to fly ball rate, and Turang gets the platoon edge as a left handed hitter who does damage in the air with a 47% hard hit rate. The roof keeps conditions neutral, so this comes down to a heating up bat against a pitcher who gives up the long ball.
Pick 3: Jacob Young to hit a HR --- (+760, Onyx Odds)
Jacob Young
Over 0.5 Player Home Runs
Matchup vs. Mitch Bratt (Diamondbacks), Nationals Park, Jul 25, 4:05 PM ET
This is the highest upside swing on the board and the longest price, and it is all about the matchup. Against right handed hitters, Mitch Bratt goes to his four seam fastball nearly half the time, and hitters are slugging .538 against that pitch with a 70% hard hit rate. Young does his best work on exactly that offering, with a 65% hard hit rate and top of the scale exit velocities on four seamers, and he owns the platoon edge as a right handed bat. When a hitter this locked in on the fastball meets a pitcher who lives on it, you take the shot at a price this long.
